AirStar Creates Sound Stage for Terminator: Client Warner Brothers
AirStar International is not only able to build custom UAVs and helicopters, but also has the ability to take on a wide array of engineering tasks. A perfect example of this is when the producers from Warner Brothers needed a wide variety of drone helicopter sounds for their new movie Terminator Salvation.
For the Terminator movie, Warner Brothers contracted AirStar Production engineers to design and build a very specialized microphone mounting system with sound dampening and frequency barriers. AirStar Productions created a unique sound stage in order to capture the sounds of helicopters to generate "futuristic UAV cyber droids" flying and hovering. AirStar provided UAV VTOL helicopters and CamCopter operators that were put through the paces and flew orchestrated, choreographed, pre-planned flight patterns around the microphone stage in order to capture the unique phasing sounds of each flying drone machine.
The end result was extremely successful and once again demonstrated AirStar’s unique position in the Motion Picture industry as a solution oriented aerospace company which has a rich diversity of niche VTOL UAV business applications, connections in high places and the right people to accomplish any task.

AirStar founder Josef Jobstl, who grew up not far from fellow Austrian Arnold Schwarzenegger, came to Hollywood at Mel Gibson’s invitation in 1985.
